THE NUTCRACKER BALLET

Get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the magic of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s The Nutcracker. The iconic production has become a seasonal tradition in Aspen and should not be missed.

ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING AT THE LITTLE NELL

A festive, family-friendly event held in the courtyard of The Little Nell. There will be a countdown to the beautiful tree lighting, carolers and photo ops with Santa Claus. Enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa. The Aspen Animal Shelter will be around with “reindeer” pups.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE UNVEILING AT THE ST. REGIS

The St. Regis reveals their 7 feet tall confectionary Marvel. Children will be able to walk inside the sugary structure and have their photo taken with Santa in front of the ginger bread house. Hot cocoa and treats will be served. 

10th December 4PM – 5PM

ASTRONOMY NIGHT WITH ACES

ACES invites you to Hallam Lake to view and learn about the night sky. There will be a 15 minute lesson covering basic astronomy concepts (meteor showers, life-cycles of stars etc) followed by star-gazing. Expect loads of shooting stars on a clear night!

OLAF THE ELF VISITS HALLAM LAKE

Listen to a story about Olaf the winter elf, enjoy hot chocolate, arts and crafts, and adventure into the winter wonderland of Hallam Lake to feed the birds with Olaf.

Admission price: free and open to the public 

OTHER FUN THINGS TO DO IN ASPEN

Ice skating and lunch or dinner at CP Burger. The outdoor ice rink is in front of the child (and adult) friendly restaurant. Burgers, salads and milkshakes.

The Aspen Recreation Centre has a climbing wall, indoor ice rink, indoor swimming pool, water slide, hot tub, lazy river and much more. Admission price: $19. There is also a sledding hill just behind the center. Free admission, or $5 for a sled.

Aspen Red Brick Recreation Centre has a super playhouse with inflatables ideal for 5 year old’s and under. Admission price: $5

Art workshops at the Aspen Art Museum, are a great creative outlet and fun afternoon.

The Pitkin Country Library holds Storytime on Tuesdays and Thursdays for varying ages. There is also a children’s readings section, and Lego club on some afternoon.

Visit the Aspen Animal Shelter and play with the puppies, cats and dogs. You are allowed to take one of the dogs on a walk for free!
