Alexandra S.

Hi! I'm Alex from Nantucket, Massachusetts. I have been living in Steamboat Springs for almost six years and absolutely love it here. I graduated from the University of Vermont and am now working towards my masters in school counseling.

I love working with kids of all ages and am passionate about mental health which has led me to pursue a career in this field. I am CPR and First Aid certified, a 300 hour yoga teacher, a Reiki practitioner and certified substitute teacher in the state of Colorado. I speak intermediate Spanish and oftentimes work in the school system with emerging bilingual students.

I have over 12 years of professional childcare experience. I have also had various roles in the local school system as a special education paraprofessional and currently have worked as a substitute teacher for the past four years. I have worked with children of all ages, from six months old to teenagers. This has given me the opportunity to understand and adapt my skills to working with such a wide age range of children.

When I'm not nannying, I love to be outside. I'm passionate about mountain biking, skiing, hiking, camping and fly fishing. I also teach yoga and am always finding ways to get on my mat. I enjoy traveling, and spend time exploring new places in the off-season. Growing up on an island I feel the need to always make my way back to the ocean throughout the year to get my fill of swimming, surfing and boating.

Steamboat is such a special place because of its natural beauty and community, I feel so grateful to live here and plan to continue to establish my roots in this valley for years to come.
